DAN Basic Life Support Pro
Basic Life Support for Dive Professionals is a professional-level basic life support program designed to teach advanced skills to dive professionals, divers who find themselves in remote situations where emergency help is not immediately available and interested others who are involved with diving.
First Aid is the treatment given in a medical emergency before full medical care can be obtained.
Certification in First Aid & CPR by any recognized agency is required for the following Scuba diving certifications:
- Scuba Rescue Diver
- Advanced Scuba Rescue Diver
- Assistant Instructor
- Divemaster
- Instructor
The cost of this course is $80 and plus and additional $25 for all books and materials.
Recommended Minimum Hours of Training
Knowledge and skills development hours = 8
This is an 8-hour program, although it is skills dependent program, not time dependent. It is video driven. The instructor shows short video segments, demonstrates the skills in real-time, does a second skill demonstration breaking down key steps as appropriate and then conducts student practice.
As your First Aid & CPR Instructors, we bring to the course real life scenarios not normally found in a standard course. Our information will be presented in an easy to absorb fashion to prepare you for virtually any First Aid or CPR emergency that you will encounter as a recreational diver. The keystone of all presentations is PREVENTION. As a diver you will be challenged to develop global awareness and prevent medical emergencies and diving accidents before they happen.
If you currently are a recreational diver without First Aid & CPR certification we recommend you take this course which can be integrated with any of our offered courses. When taken with the DAN O2 Provider Course and the Scuba Rescue course, a total preview of a First Aid response in diving medical emergencies can be attained.
